Krista specialises in custom wedding cakes and larger custom cakes and cupcake orders for over 20 people. If you wish to purchase a smaller cake or cupcakes they are readily available at Krista's sister's bakery Card's Bakery located 115 Princess street at all times without order.

Cake Decorating Lessons

Cake Decoating Lessons offered November through April. A three hour course is $80 and you take your cake creation home with you! Classes are offered in Krista's cake studio in Sydenham, Ontario.

All of Krista's cakes are made with the finest ingredients, including whole creams, fresh fruits, real butter, and the finest imported European chocolate. Food allergies can be accommodated, and cake samples are available for taste-testing.

Buttercream Icing

The main ingredients of buttercream icing are icing sugar and butter, which combine to create a rich icing with a buttery flavour. Buttercream is the most common icing, and can provide an extremely smooth and polished fondant appearance to cakes and piping. Buttercream icing is generally ivory in colour due to the presence of butter, though a stark white icing (which incorporates less butter) is also available.


Fondant is slightly sweeter than buttercream icing, and is rolled on to the cake to provide a nice, smooth appearance. Fondant is slightly more expensive than buttercream icing.

Sugar Paste Dough

Sugar paste dough is a sugar-based specialty dough that is used to create decorative elements such as flowers, bows, and ribbons.

Swiss Meringue Frosting

Swiss meringue frosting is a silky light covering over the cake.

Wedding Cake Designs

Krista loves to design cakes around particular themes: perhaps you have a unique bow on your wedding gown, or some interesting beadwork that you would like duplicated … anything is possible!

Ordering a Wedding Cake or Wedding Cupcakes

It is best to book a wedding cake as soon as possible. Please email or call Krista at 613-544-4448 to make an appointment. Most wedding cakes average in price $450-$550.

Delivery and set up are included unless outside of Kingston region. Cakes involving fondant covering are more expensive as the cake is iced first in buttercream and then fondant. Cakes serving less then 100 guests will be priced lower and accordingly.

Note that Krista does not deliver wedding cupcakes, but they are easily collected at the shop and placed on stands at the event. Krista does deliver and set up tiered wedding cakes.

A deposit of $100 is needed to secure the date and Krista is happy to provide free samples to booking clients.

Wedding cupcake bookings fill up rather quickly. Krista has two large stands that accommodate larger orders and one small silver stand for smaller weddings. Stands can be viewed on the cake gallery. Wedding cupcake base prices begin at $2 a piece and increase in price with fondant work or complexity. Cutting cakes for the start of the stand begin at $30. Delivery and set up are $75 however no fee pick-up is optional as this can be given to a friend or family member. It costs $50 to secure the stand rental. The stand must be returned at the beginning of the week following the wedding date.
